Framed stoneware tile from Ravenstones tileworks in Seattle. Artist Laura Reutter, founder of Ravenstone. Frame made a couple weeks ago. Built in a batch w/ of 12 other various frames. Not much labor in the piece due to the batch run. This one has been a good seller on Ebay. Think people like the tile and grueby green is a popular color in the arts and crafts period style. Acorns and Oak go together too.
Quartersawn white oak frame is simple mortice and tenon contruction. Sides on this one are bookmatched. The 4 pieces are different thicknesses and offset to create a shadow line in the design. It is 12×11 inches.
I call this my pagoda style frame. finish is aniline alchohol dye with oil stain. Poly finished with shellace top coat, thick black paste wax. .... link to ebay auction
More explained about this project ,,, pricing etc … in the eBay blog entry.
sold on ebay for $163 7-21-7 ... great price

Beautiful as usual Dan. I’m going to miss the chat tomorrow…deadline at work….hate it when that happens. Have fun….I’ll browse the transcript. You’ve definitely got me inspired. Once I clear the decks a little I’m going to try my hand.
