I made this for my mother-in-law for her birthday. The top and bottom are Padauk and the middle is from a silk tree I had to have removed from my back yard because the roots were tearing up the patio. A simple shellac finish and it’s good for use as either a jewelry box or a candy dish. The design/plan is from an issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts, Fall 2010. I changed up a few things, including curling the top to come closer to the natural way a leaf would curl.
