Taking the basic box construction from my recent jewelry box, I made this coffee grinder. The kit came from Pen State Industries, and the maple was from a tree I found and had milled up. It is local soft maple, but it had some nice figure.

The pull was a leftover chunk from an ebony pen blank that I shaped to a suitable form. The box is in a dado in the bottom via a friction fit, in case I ever need to access the mounting hardware inside.

I should have spent more time surfacing, to get rid of the layout lines for the dovetails, but they don’t bother me too much Finish is BLO followed by dewaxed shellac. The grinder works great.

Very nicely done and attractive.
