This is a simple shelf that I made for our friends house. They had a fancy TV above the fireplace, but nowhere to put the DVR. I cheated and used a melamine shelf so that I did not have to paint it (they wanted white).

Turned out really nice!

Maybe you could use a couple of “zip ties” and connect the cables up on the back of the TV. I just hate it when I have to deal with all those wires!
