My Grandfather passed away a few weeks ago, and I was asked by my mother to make a box for the flag that was used in the ceremony. After I had purchased the wood, and made the first cuts, I get another email asking if I could possibly display one of the casings that was used for the 21 gun salute. Well… The little panel that is pinned into place in front of the glass is what I came up with.

I am sure it will sit proudly in my Grandmothers house.

My condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Grandfather. His service is greatly appreciated! That is really a nice box. The line are clean and the addition of the shell casing is a nice touch.

Good job, Robert, and a good save on the positioning of the brass.
