This is a shop made bowsaw kit from Tools for Working Wood that I recently made. I blogged the build, if a bit sparsely.

All scrap ash left over from the Roubo build. Deliberately unfinished.

Nice, I’ve got to make me one of those just for the heck of it. I really don’t like the work though.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does a bowsaw do? Is it special in some way, or are they based on the desire to complete projects with only hand tools? Don’t mean to be rude, just curious and ignorant. (Bad combo…)

Derrek, Think of it as a hand held bandsaw, used for many of the same purposes.

Nice bow saw, and it looks like it cuts really well too. Which is the mark of any fine tool. I made a couple as well you can check em out here (
