Twist Rocker

I have made these Twist Rockers from myrtlewood and maple usually with padauk for an accent wood. They were some of my signature pieces. The backrest is tricky and I use two separate forms to clamp the pieces up at the same time and then fold them into each other to give the backrest a curve. I have had the headrest laser engraved on three of them for either memorials or mementos.

Wow – those are amazing. Had to be a tricky build – but they sure came out nicely.

Very nice, Brian! Do the back pieces half lap where they intersect? Do they bend sideways? Please tell more. I like the engraving detail and the thoughtfulness behind it. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous! Love the design – looks very comfortable. Imagining what one would look like in walnut. Thanks for posting.
