Well, it certainly stands out. I built the cabinet out of birch ply. I made my own veneer with a mix of maple, oak and padduk. The door slides on furniture-glides riding in a 3/4” groove. I filled the bottom of the groove with epoxy to make it slide easily. It measures 5 feet long, 17” deep and 22” tall.

Nice job on the veneering. That thing does look crazy. I’m working on a larger, tamer looking one at the moment.

Beautiful artistic piece of furniture. This blue (green) colour is not bad at all with this wood mosaic.

I like it..I like to see unique things and this is fun to view. the bright color and the homemade veneer are an unusual combo, but they work!

Love the veneer, love the lines. I think I would have gone with a blue/tourquoise stain rather than paint, but I’m kinda “anti-paint” where woodworking is concerned. It’s definitely a bold piece that takes me back to my childhood.

Interesting, I’m a fan of credenzas. Like the technique with the epoxy. Wish I could see it better, something is wrong with your pictures.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Mike, the jury is in….....and they love it!

Bikerdad, I agree. I rarely paint a piece of furniture. I was trying to do this one on the cheap. I only spent $60 plus some scraps i had lying around. I would have loved to use walnut.
