A Different Kind of Bandsaw Box

I have seen several people replace the open stand for their band saw with a storage cabinet now, and looking at the hideous mess that is my cramped shop thought it was a great idea. Add to that the small area and my need to have large, “stationary” tools on castors so I can wheel them out for use and the need was obvious.

I busted out the dado blade and knocked together a cabinet out of some leftover cinstruction grade ply and a piece of junk paneling I grabbed for a buck from the lumberyard’s damaged goods pile. A white cabinet made of ugly wood didn’t sit well with me, so I busted out the airbrush and started fooling around. I haven’t painted in a couple of years, but it turned out surprisingly well. Last pic is the “work in progress.”

Happy Halloween, lumberjocks!

Pure badass. I have an airbrush too. Mine won’t do that. Is it broke? ;) Seriously though, I am envious of the skill required to create graphics like that freehand and just “fooling around”. Thanks for posting this!

Quite impressive painting!! I dig it.

I wish my wife would use the expensive Iwata airbrush I bought her 2 years ago. She was a scenic painter by trade and wanted to get into airbrush. Ah well maybe some day.

Have your say...
