Made the oak plaque to look distressed with a mix of stain, took a hammer to the front to give it a tossed around look, also took the rail spikes cut and welded the together to make the number 40 and at hat hanger. Wanted to go for that “old and weathered” look….even as far as bending the nails on the engraved plate!

I thought this was a simple plaque until I read the text … nice work! I like the use of the spikes and bent nails! Clever!

Thanks, I cut the spikes and welded them to make the “40”....since I was going for the rustic look, It’s the small details like bending the nails on the plate…that complete it!
