I had decided to make some beer stines for some birthday presents. A bit of internet searching and a lot of sanding this is what I ended up with. This is my first attempt at making something like this and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.

They are made from oak pannels that I found at a garage sale.

Nice! What did you use for finish? Any problems finding something you felt comfortable drinking from?

I used EnfiroTex Lite Pour-On High Gloss Finish, the documentation stated that it is food-safe for indirect contact only but I have read that several people in the SCA community have used this product for leather jacks (leather beer mugs) and have had no issues so I figured that it should be good for wood as well.

Another finish I was thinking about using was Salad Bowl Finish .

Have your say...
