It’s been a few years since I’ve been active on this site, but I certainly haven’t stopped making dust! Among other projects, this year I’ve been turning out these boxes for a wedding photographer. She sells them as part of her photography package to her clients as Coffee Table Photo Boxes. They hold about 200 5×7 photos – 50 in each compartment. The 2nd photo with the weathered looking material were my first batch, made from re-purposed fence material. Working with that stuff was too much of a chore (it was horribly unstable), so the first photo taken on my workbench is the design I’ve settled on for the past few batches of boxes. They’re maple, all of the panel pieces are tongue & groove, and the lids have breadboard ends to keep everything flat and stable.

Very interesting. Great niche product with a built in sale.
I find it interesting that she wants all 5X7. I would think she would want to offer different sizes inside the box. And maybe a place for wallet size for family members who want one? But what do I know. The box is functional, beautiful, and obviously it sells! Outstanding!

That’s a nice product for a photographer to sell with a package deal. Congratulations.

Agreed on the medicine cabinet! ...especially if the trays were a little deeper.

Have your say...
