Coast Guard Table

Our grandaughter always says “Home is were the Coast Guard sends us” as her Dad gets moved around the country. Now that she has outgrown toys, I make her furniture that she can take with her to where ever her current home is. This is my own design, I’ve never seen anything quite like it and as you can see it all knocks down for good packing for travel. The disc in the bottom has notches to keep the legs in alignment when it is set up and the top is held in place with mirror clips that fit thru notches and under the brass mending plates on the top end of the legs. The only problem is: Dad “stole it” for the family room.

Great design and execution. As retired Air Force, I can understand your granddaughter’s viewpoint. It would probably even fit into a 3.1 carton, which we generally figured would keep the movers from breaking it (but not necessarily from losing it). I can’t quite make out the hardware on the top of the legs. How do you latch the top to the legs?

That is a great little compact-able table, David! Did your granddaughter ever get to ‘steal’ it back?
