I purchased 4 boards of this Kill Beetle Pine with the sole intent of making some band saw boxes so this is the first of probably 4 that I’ get from that purchase. While sanding the carcass with the back off, I actually broke it at the bottom of the second draw cavity just to the right of the knot. Well a little CA glue and a few minutes later we are back in business! The other goof on this was it was about 1/2 to tall even laying down to cut the back off on my band saw so I ended doing that on my table saw with actually very good success!

It stands 8”h x 6.5”w x 4”d. Sanded to 220 and with 2 coats of wipe on poly. Cool wood. If anyone has any other suggestions for the use please share, Thanks for looking.

Good looking BS box…I love the wood you used. Tip: I some times add thin shims to either the bottom of the drawers or bottom of the cut out in the box to help line up the drawer. If not to bad, I will flock the inside of the drawer opening. I have made that design many times, Nothing wrong with using the TS to cut off the back. I do that before I cut out the design. I wouldn’t try it on the drawers…might loose a finger or two.

Nice box.
I use bkp as an accent for cherry, walnut and other woods I use, feel free to check some of my projects for usage ideas

Beautiful design. Those natural dark grain of pine and knots make it even better.

When it comes to the back I sometimes but on a different wood for contrast.
