Hummingbird Intarsia for a relative. Originally thought about doing another pattern, but that one ended up being many more pieces and lots of them were very small. I thought it might be a bit beyond my current skill level to achieve the result that I wanted. So I decided on this one instead.
Pieces are Western Red Cedar and Walnut, backer board is a piece of White Oak that I found in the bargain bin at the local Woodcraft store.
Photo 1 is the final with the finish applied, photo 2 is before the finish has been applied. Finished piece is 9.5×5.5”. Pattern is from an Intarsia book by Judy Gale Roberts.
Hope you enjoyed it!

This is so nice and you’ve done a wonderful job on it.

It looks so alive. It’s good that there are not much other colours, I like it this way with few soft colours.
