When my pal Todd Rasner posted his wonderful version of my animated giraffe lamp …
http://lumberjocks.com/projects/189666
.. I almost forgot that we were supposed to be in SMACKDOWN mode.

But that’s not the case. As much as I enjoy competition, there’s no winner or loser here. I made mine for a particular moment and person in my life, and so did Todd. So in my book, we’re both winners.

But if you want to see a REALLY GOOD video, check out mine. :-)

John, you continue to amaze me with your number of projects, the uniqueness of each, and the flow time between projects.

You crank different ones out almost weekly. How do you do it?

Wow! I was expecting to see some wooden gears. All that circular motion in a smooth sequence brings cheer to the mind. Well done John.

It’s not just mechanism I admire, it’s also colours and animals and characters you put in the story.

This lamp is so creative and very interesting. You really did a fine job on it.

That is fantastic (even if the design is not yours), still, a mighty fine job of it!! what kind of motor did you use to run this so slowly?

Ah, but it is my design. My post followed Todd Rasner’s, so I guess you could say that it’s a prequel. :-)

Nice work as usual John. I see that the magazine got smart and offers the plans as a download instead of and insert in their mag. Good thinking!
