This is a wood carving of a Whitetail deer. This buck is hand carved from a single piece of wood. It is a perfect wood gift for any hunter, and fits perfectly in a log home or man cave. This wall sculpture was handmade by me, Josh Carte, here in Ohio.

This wood carving hangs on the wall. I attached a hanger on the back for easy installation. I also signed, dated and listed the name of the carving on the back.

This carving depicts a whitetail buck roaming about in the moon light.

“Buck of a Lifetime”

23 1/2” tall, 11 1/2” wide, 3/4” thick

This is an original wood carving. There will never be another just like it. This carving is made from a flat board and carved to look like it has depth. This style of carving is called pierced relief.

This carving began as an original drawing on a piece of Pine wood. I then used a chainsaw to block out the carving, along with a jigsaw. The rest of the carving was done using hand tools and sanders. I used a torch for all of the color. No paint, dye or stain was used. I sealed this sculpture with 3 coats of spray urethane.

That is a really handsome beast.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Your work takes my breath away, John. This is stunning. All torch-coloring. Please make a video next time you do that. Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks, everyone! I surely appreciate all of your kind words :)

Mark, I will need another set of hands for a video…Or a GoPro…Neither of which are currently at my disposal, but I certainly agree that it is a good idea for the future.

Much love!
