For a long time, I’ve been thinking about a large, inexpensive, store-able table for having company over for dinner in the back yard. Then I happened across a cutting grid table for cutting plywood and knew I had found what I was looking for. This table is just a variation on that theme.

If we hadn’t already invited 10 people over for dinner I would have made Krenov sawhorses as legs, but I was running out of time, so I improvised with plywood screwed and glued in an “L” for each leg. Each leg is attached to the grid with two 1/4 in nuts and bolts.

The grid itself is just notched and fit together without glue.

The top is composed of rough lumber from my garage stash, simply laid on top of the grid.

NOW that is what the pioneers did years ago.If they needed a larger table …..BUILD ONE.
I bet the food tasted great and the company had lots to talk about.
