This is a small project I put together to hold some coasters that my wife made. The most interesting aspect to me is that I started with rough cut white oak and succeeded in producing this without a jointer or a planer. I am not yet confident enough with my hand planes to tackle a larger project, but am pleased with the results here.

Looks good! I like the way you hid the end-grain.
