My niece asked to build a doghouse for her 2 dogs and this is what we came up with. They are renting so they needed something that could be taken apart and moved fairly easy. all four walls and roof can be easily broken down. the porch roof can be removed also it hangs on a cleat that is secured to the front wall. The entry doors will get doggie doors put in eventually and we still have a little trim to do around the bottom and along the roof sides.
I think if we did it again we would cut the 2×4 frames in half and it would still be plenty strong enough but would take away some weight and expense. it is very sturdy and so far the dogs dig it and they are staying warm and dry.

Very lucky dogs. Nicely done.

That looks really good.

You really have to wrap yor mind differently around a project, when it have to be designed so it can be dismantled again.

Well done sir

Nice job indeed and I’m sure the dogs love it. It doesn’t look big enough for yourself so I guess you don’t have to worry about being sent to the dog house!! Nice build.

Ha that’s funny you say that thinkerf when I was building it I told my wife if I was making it for our dogs I’d have to make it big enough for me too.
She laughed and then agreed.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It was a fun project to work on. The breakdown part of it definitely kept me thinking and rethinking.

Great doghouse. Have to admit though I am a bit disappointed not to see a picture go the dogs that will inhabit it.
