Bonsai table made for my sister-in-law. This project taken from Woodcraft Mag. Vol2 No11 by Jack Dungan P22-24 was made from aspen then stained black ebony lightly and a final coat of varnish

it was stained with cabot ebony stain #8132. I wiped the stain on lightly with a rag and wiped excess immediately with a dry wrag so that it remained light enough to leave the wood grain. It was then finished with two coats of Behlen Rockhard Tabletop varnish. Sorry I didn`t save any other pictures
