This is MULBERRIES!
I had recieved an obscure piece of mulberry wood from a teachers scraps and first took a look at it and said I might as well throw it away. Then as I came back to it an hour later I took notice tho what I had at hand. This mulberry wood had unique texture, flowing burl wood grain, and a bright yellow look. The bark was an accessory I had to keep as well. I made slight cuts on the bandsaw, rounded over the edges on the sander and loved the shape. I then decided to add an extra effect of inlaying cavansite crystals, rare tiny blue crystals that were delicate but had a very appealing look. (reminds me of crunch berries :) ) i then inlayed the cavansite and added a nice layer of laquer over the piece. it is accessible artpiece to hang on the wall with a hanger on the back.
medium – mulberry wood, cavansite
date created – april 2009
size – 25 in 4 in 2 in
FOR SALE – $500
