Rustic Cedar Love Seat!

Project by Dick, & Barb Cain posted 120 days ago 1383 views 2 times favorited 52 comments Add to Favorites Watch

My neighbor at the lake, picked up some short pieces of cedar left by the loggers,

because they only take 100” pieces.

I made a few benches out of them, & this is our favorite.

I used my Logman Tenon Maker on this Project.

Check this link out, because it has a great demo.

Dick, & Barb Cain,

Looks like a Lovely, Love Seat for a Lovely couple in a very Lovely setting! If Love has anything to do with it at all, you should win this contest hands down. This bench (loveseat) is so fitting for it’s surroundings, and is most inviting as well. The overall design works well with the medium and has the necessary personalization needed to carry it off! Congratulations folks on a really successful collaboration, and good luck in the contest.

Sincerely,
Ken McGinnis

WOW!

What a exciting surprise to wake up to. We never expected to receive such a high ranking.

What’s really great about it is, the prize that we won.

Just the other day as we went over the prize list, I told Barb that this would be the prize I’d like to

win if I had a choice of all the prizes. It’s like a dream come true.

This has to be an encore to yesterday, because we celebrated Barb’s 77th Birthday.

We want to give a Big Thank You! for all of you who voted for our Love Seat.

And also a Big Thank You to all of those who participated in this wonderful contest.

Hi Dick,

Very nicely done. As I recall I ranked you up there near the top in the contest because it has such a natural feel to it. It has soul and character, the signature of well crafted, hand made designs.

I was wondering if you could share some of your secrets on how you made it. I am interested in making log furniture but find so little information on how to actually do it.

Could you share a bit of how you cut the joints and in particular how you line up the joints on roundwood?
Is everything hand cut, hand measured or do you have some tools or any secrets you are willing to share?

Thanks!
