Cherry Burl bowl

A friend gave me hunk of cherry that was cut from his uncles property. It had a huge burl growth on the side. I spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out how to cut this log and create a couple of bowl blanks which I’ve never done before. This was the first piece of 2. Its about 7” x 3 1/2”. Sanding was hard with section on the side missing even had a high speed. Finished with EEE and then some danish oil.

Nice work, I love turning the gnarly stuff.
