Pecan Wood Bowl

This came from a pecan farms firewood pile in New Mexico It was a log that I got two small bowl blanks out of. I could only get a few pieces in my luggage to bring home. This bowl is about 7 1/2” x 3”. Beautiful wood – it was quite dry with some cracks from being exposed to the New Mexico sunshine but it turned out quite nice.

Nice bowls. Beautiful grain and color – looks a lot like red gum. How did you finish?

Sanded to 600 then EEE and wax.
