Big Laker No-picture-s No-picture-s Click the pictures to enlarge them

This is a Laker my brother and I caught on Higgins Lake a couple years ago. We were invited to Fred Trosts annual big fish celebration on PBS. It weighed almost 25 lbs. big for an inland lake. This was like his Big Buck Night he has every year. The fish had it’s belly fin clipped off which means its been tagged by the DNR. So we turned in the head and they send you the year it was planted where on the lake, etc. Sorry I know this has nothing to do with woodworking although I hit it on the head with a fish billy cause it was flopping all over, and that was made from wood, with lead in the head. jockmike

Oh yea, I caught it at 100ft but it never showed on the graph. I thought I had snagged bottom. I’ve also lost over 100 lbs myself since then. mike

Nice fish Mike…..and yes that is woodwork. I made my friend a bluefish billy last year after he foolishly put his hand near a flopping blue and got a nasty bite for his efforts.

Congrats on the weightloss…I just dropped 50 myself and feel almost young again.

excellent. Love the “thought I snagged the bottom” feeling !!

And yes.. it’s woodworking. So where’s the pix of the “bopper”?

really a nice fish – the fish billy (made of wood) is called a “Hello stick” here – also made of wood.
guess they sever the same purpose…

That is an awesome catch.

Fishing for my 4 small boys is more about ”The Cast”. They are starting to get the idea of the longer the worm is in the water, the chances of catching a fish goes up.”

We are headed to Caddo Lake State Park this weekend to try and reel in the BIG ONE.

Congrats on losing the weight. That is great news.

Nice catch Mike, It is always nice when you take a break from woodworking and pull in a whopper like that.

Caught anything good lately Mike? I miss the fishing in Michigan. I do not even bother here in California.
