I can not claim this as my own.I found it here http://highlandwoodworking.com/jigcontestgallery.html . I wanted a sled to cut pen blanks and have my hands as far away as I could from the saw blade and this sled does just that. The cuts are made at the front of the sled.I added a toggle clamp to hold the blank. It is also adjustable as you can tell from the pics. Its made out of scrap,14.5”x18” using 1/2” mdf for the base, poplar and pine for fence’s,maple for the runners.Safer for sure and cut repeatability will be very nice.Thx for looking.

I know want you mean by keeping your fingers away from the blade I made a pen sled similar to yours. Check it out projects/41357.
