Building one of these saw benches designed by Chris Schwarz was one of my first woodworking projects, it is also one the most useful things I have ever made for the shop. It excels as a bench and step stool and I also found out it works pretty well for using a handsaw to dimension lumber. I only built one and always wished I had two.

The First is all the legs glued up showing the mortise. Second is after I cut the 10 degree angle on the legs.
