This is a gift I made for a supervisor at work when he retired. He has a real zany sense of humor so enjoyed the humor of the clock face.
The case is made from black walnut and birds eye maple. We (my coworkers and I) had a small plaque engraved and I attached it.
The gift was very much appreciated.
The finish is several coats of wipe on poly.

Superb!
(Only, I hope “retirement” and any “clock” does not really go together. Heh, heh.)

Very nice looking clock. You did a beautiful job on it. Where did you get the works from? Thanks for posting.

I made a similar faced clock years back for a friends housewarming. used a plastic make a clock kit, and stick on letters. (I wasn’t a woodworker yet.) Very well received, even if it stopped working properly and became a kinetic sculpture.
Thanks for reminding me about that… I see it looks great in wood, and I daresay, actually works! Might have to call the old one a prototype and make another!

That is great, the parents just retired, may have to give them a belated retirement gift.

Did you make the face or is it one that can be bought? I’d love to make one for ME. LOL
