My first foray into pull toys, but I had so much fun that I think I will do more – maybe for Ebay.

I was browsing Google Images for some ideas and saw the cow and elephant with the ball in the middle and I thought the motion of the ball rolling might be a little more attention getting for a 1 year old. Their attention span is about 15 seconds! The doggie has the front wheels off-set on the axle so it goes up and down and the ears move forward and back and the tail is on a spring so it waggles.

The toughest part was making the round balls. I saw all kinds of jigs for making balls, but i figured that since it was for a kids toy that it didn’t have to be perfectly round. So I just eyeballed it and they turned out good enough for a toy. The trick to keeping the ball from falling out was to position the wheels high enough so that the ball would rest on the top of the wheels to spin as the toy was pulled but not so high that the ball would hit the top of the hole and not spin.

I had some time left before the party so I turned a rocket ship box for her to put candy or coins into when she gets a little older.
Anywho, I figured I would post these as I haven’t put anything up for a while. Enjoy and comments and criticism is ALWAYS welcome! (sorry I couldn’t get the rocket picture to face upwards!)

Sweet. I’ve been thinking in the line of trying to make some of these. You did great.
