T V cabinent 66” x 30” tall made of lyptus a very hard and dense wood from Brazil.
it weighs 250 lb
I purchased a 52” tv and guess what,no cabinent to set it on.
So I went to my design chair and did a serch on the internet for a design, but nothing caught my eye.
then i desided how long, how tall and how wide.
Now it was time to go to shop and make some sawdust. I glued all the boards together to make top
ends and base. Then i sent them to cadinent shop and had planed and sanded,
I made all shelves and deviders out of solid lyptus, now it was time to make the doors, flush mounted
doors, after making 2 ea sets of doors and putting them in the junk pile, i went to my design chair and
in my head i came up with a method to make these doors.
I salvaged the center panels. for the outside, i mounted a piece to the hinges, and to cab. now i cut the other
parts of frame by using popcicle sticks for spacers. now i installed the center panel with the frame pieces
and placed shims all the way around door to verify the fit. now i took it allapart and installed rubber
spacers in slots, glued all joints, put door in and shimed 3 ea sides with popcicle sticks and tapered
wedges where required for clamping pressure.
A cabinent maker of 35 years came buy and said excellent job, and ask me how i did the doors.

That is a beautiful wood. I really appreciate the straight clean lines of your design.
