Yeah, it’s another mail box. I recently taught myself how to make box joints so there you are. It’s made of poplar.

Nice job Doc, kind of a Greene and Greene influenced mailbox. A nice piece of work now you have to build a house to hang it on lol.

Had to sign in to comment on this. I really like it and would like to see the front/interior if available. Really worthwhile project.

Thank you all for the kind comments. Are these the pic angles you wanted Spooner? It’s all taste Abie, and as I rapidly approach 60 I’m losing mine. French Fries just don’t have the flavor they used to. Joe, how’d you find out I was living under the I-95 overpass?

I keep wanting to make a mailbox (one to stand on a post). I’ve had trouble trying to escape the notion of a mailbox shaped like a house (shotgun) or a cabin (mountain lodge). Abstract never occurred to me. Thank you for wrinkling my brain. I’ve never seen Poplar get that pretty. Tell me more about your finishing of the piece, please.
