“Land flowing with milk and honey”
With this piece of woodcarving I deviate from my custom, I carved something fast with not a lot of time and effort investment such as in most of my carvings.
The reason is that in my little town, Maitar, Israel will be soon a new exhibition with the title “greeting cards” and I thought which bless can I do with wood carving? The idea was found in the bible, Exodus 3:17 “land flowing with milk and honey”
Here is the blessing, carved from olive tree, which the land of Israel was blessed with it, Israel map of the year 2009 (without taking any political say regarding its borders which is a hot “potato” in those days, but) describing the present situation.
The honey is flowing from the jar which is held by an unseen hand; actually stand on the column of honey which is flowing out of it. The piece was varnished with epoxy in order to increase the effect of the glancing honey.

Thank you all for your comments.
Bill, upon your request’ I think it is the time to update my profile with some more details. I hope to do it today and let you know. Regarding more projects, since I have another job and woodcarving is my hobby, it takes me a lot of time to create one piece, especially the faces, this last piece took me one week (during spare time)
