It may not be much, but this cabinet really helped me get organized. I usually leave bits on the bench while I am working on a project and then they end up getting lost. This cabinet allowed me to put all my bits and other drill press items in one spot. Plus I like that I can hang it up and close the door.

hi ken, I like the cabinet. It has given me a couple of ideas for my bits that are laying around. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job!

I’ve been threatening to make one for myself too….I need something to sit by the drill press…I was thinking of using the lazy susan base I have to make a rotating drill and router bit station….

Its great to have an organized place for bits and such….

Ken, this is a nice cabinet. This provides a ton of storage and occupies a relatively small footprint while keeping these tools organized and available.

This is a nice shop project.

I have so many boxed bit sets this might be the best solution. Thanks for the ideas!

Great idea, but I think that I will face another problem after building a box like this one: I will not put the parts back to place with an excuse that soon I will need it back and after an hour I will find different parts on my table and after I stop working I’ll have another excuse that soon I’ll come back and need them all. I know this is my problem, not yours :)

Thanks everyone. Yes its 3/4 ply and I cheated and used some particle board for the back cause it was all i had at the time. I integrated my screwdriver bits onto one side cause i lose those things all the time. I know what you mean about picking up Eli, it is a common problem. My problem is I like to work but don’t like to clean. I need a “mini me’

Nice! I like it! I built one in the similar fashion to hang by my drill press as well. Mine is deep enough that I store my drill bits, Forestner bits(in the case), and also my sanding sleeves and drums. I’ve had it a good many years, and it has served me well. So will yours, and will last a life time for you. If you ever move your drill to another part of the shop and rearrange like a lot of us do, take it down, and take it with you.
