Here is the commissioned baby crib for my sister and brother-in-law. They had trouble finding a crib they liked to purchase so I ended up building this one for them. It is a gift from my brother-in-law’s parents.
Made from maple, some pieces contained curl and accented as the trim pieces. Based on the Wood Magazine plans and the kit from American Products.
Finished with Deft Danish Oil. I will be making the toddler foot board and bed rails at some point but I have 18 months to get those done. This had to be finished by the shower in 2 weeks.
Thanks for the looking.

Of all the things I’ve had an opportunity to make, I think cribs are my favorite. I really like this one and I’m sure it will become a family treasure.

It is one of those new style easy-access cribs. While assembling it the side panel glue joints did not hold. To be fair I wacked on a piece of metal pretty hard with the hammer. It is back down in the clamps and will be put back on later today.
Funny thing Russell, I did the Rockler crib about 4 years ago for our first and swore I would never do another crib. This one was actually much more of a pleasure to build.
