I had bought a 6” X 6” block of the Burl that was about 8” long. I decided to make a box out of it. I used a piece of Spalted Maple for the top.
I put Dovetails on the corners I kind of looked dah when I finished it. I decided to put some curves in it or toss it. I thought it turned out okay. Someone will buy it.
Thanks for looking.

I like it, I think it turned out nice. Good call on putting some curves in it, glad you didn’t toss it!

Awesome colours! You made good decision to add some curves. This pull is nice too.

Majuvia I have seen a few boxes made this way and can you share what tool you used in cutting those curves. I thought it would be a hand grinder but wondered what type of grinding wheel you use…it is a special one?

Roger,
I used Behlen’s Sealant, followed up with 3 coats of Behlen’s Instrument Lacquer.
