i had an old folding table, the kind you find in rental halls, particle board = heavy and not flat
take off the legs and mount them on a hollow core interier door, a couple 1×2s with clamps for face frames and you have a dead flat, light weight table that doesn’t take up much room to store
lumber yards and big box stores often have damaged doors they’ll sell cheap
it’s not one of the great jigs and projects we see here on LJ’s but its cheap, like me

yeah tim, the jointer is one i picked up at a consignment auction for $150, no motor and i think the only other bidder was a scrap iron dealer
it’s made by cresent tool, they went out of business in the early 1950s
near as i can tell this one was made around 1920-1925
12” wide, 7’ bed, about 1200# i put a 5 hp 220v motor on

Assembly tables are among the most important tools in any shop.
