The first four pictures of this Scrabble Box are of the same box. Just views of the different sides. Size is 9” x 16” x 51/2”. The turntable for the scrabble board folds up and fits inside the box. The trim on the lid and bottom is solid Honduras mahogany. All the rest of the box and turntable are veneer on a MDF sub straight. The borders around the marquetry inlays are cherry. The inlays are made up of a dozen or more different veneers. If you look closely at the top you will see an Elk standing in the grass. This box was made to house my wife’s, mothers scrabble game that she inherited. The cardboard box was falling apart. Not wanting to throw any of the dilapidated inheritance away: The old cardboard box fits neatly in the bottom of the new box as a keep-sake and the playing board is attached to the lid and is easily removable and ready for its millionth game. Or maybe its two millionth game.
