Keeping up with Rockbuster and Bob Wemm is near impossible at the rate they both put projects out. Don (Rockbuster) inspired Bob and I …or kind of challenged Bob and I to make a single M&M dispenser using a plan he sent to us. I was trailing behind them both but I got that project done and posted it on LJ’s. Then Don said ” try an make a double”. Bob post his double in no time at all!! I think I was set up!! LOL!

It’s been a few days now after that double challenge but I finally got around to making a Double M&M dispenser.
I may have come in late with my double model but I have trumped both of them by adding my version of a non jamming automatic retracting candy slider using a rubber band! Say that fast 3 times! “)

Hope you like it!

Mahogany, Box Joints, Lacquer Finish. Overall dimensions 5” W x 9” L x 5 1/2” H
Knob’s are wood, sealed using sanding sealer then I painted them with white enamel spray paint to look like porcelain.

Here’s a link to a video slide show that shows the building of a M&M dispenser I made earlier. I didn’t follow the plan to the letter for this one. *

Thanks for looking in!

Here’s one more photo that may help someone!

This is really nice. Some day I may have to try these, if I can find some plans.

Thank a bunch Klaus!!!
It sure was a fun build.

I have the plans if you want them just send me your email address in a PM (private message) and I’ll send them to you and anyone else that wants them. The original plan is for a single, this double is out of my head so…no plan for this one.

Hi Tony,

Sign me up for a set a plans. I’ll be sending you my email address. My mind is already spinning with ideas about the double dispenser. I’m thinking one jar with plain and the other with peanut M&M’s. Perhaps a triple with the peanut butter or mint flavored ones…. I have to stop writing now. I think I need some chocolate. :-)

Tony, I say you trumped them. The retractable slider is a nice feature. Is the top removable so that the rubber band can be replaced if needed? Well put together.
The only thing I find wrong is the fact there is plain M&M’s in both. I like variety. Ha ha

Yes the top is screwed on using 4 screws two each under the jar cover’s. I’ll add a photo here to illustrate this.
The top must removable so you can replace the rubber bands.

Hey you rascal, you not only trumped us, but there are a few bumps in there too Nice work here Tony, aren’t you guy’s glad that I opened this can of worms??? Those box joints give this thing some flair. Wait till you see what a challenge I have for you guy’s next. You will be glad to know, that I only have 3 of these started of the 18 that I have promised out. Just isn’t enough time in a day for me,but you two know of my other situation Isn’t it nice to have complimentary relatives and friends that praise your work, and look at you with a sheepish grin. I will get them all done for Christmas, but they will have to furnish the jar and M&M’s for shipping purposes. Besides, I don’t trust myself with enough M&M’s laying around to fill 18 of these.

Well Tony you were certainly up for the doubles challenge and then some. Love the box joints and your automatic retraction system.

I have a neighbor with grandchildren who would love something like this. Might have to give it a try when my project list gets worked down. Very nice build.
