I wanted to build these to be able to fit into several decors, from a formal setting to a Western style…. So the design was kept simple. I did some texture work on the backs to lend a little visual interest. They are finished with a spar varnish, oil mix. I am looking for the right leather to cover the seats. I have a real nice piece of embossed leather I was going to use, but I didn’t unroll it before I got it home. Sure enough they had cut a grub hole in it and I only had enough for one seat…. They, like everything we own around here are for sale!

Very nice chairs, Michael. Check out Asher leather in Dallas http://asherleather.com/ They have a nice selection of leather from smooth to hair on hide. Thanks for the post.

Thanks Dan and all! These were my own design as is most of my work… I have since covered the seats with a Southwestern patterned fabric that I originally bought before I thought about the leather… I barely finished them when my wife walked in and laid claim to them!!!
