used up some scrap materials, .... came up with this. pine, hand carved details, off the shelf spindles, battery powered German movement and stained with some left over green paint that I thinned down about 100% forgot to add: #1 door latch hardware is cold worked, ... a nail that is hammered flat and bent into a hook that latches onto another nail. Inexpensive and very pleasing to the eye. Separates it from the mass produced clones. #2 door has no hinges, rather it is similar to an old french piece i once restored that hasd a vertical pin (nail) that the door pivots on from the top and bottom frame that is predrilled and vertically hammered into the door frame. Cheap and efficient method of pivoting the door, and far more aesthetically appealing than some of the cheap plated hinges available.
