The Silent Projects

Project by WhiskeyWaters posted 145 days ago 398 views 1 time favorited 7 comments Add to Favorites Watch

About a month ago now, my wife and I welcomed home our new house-guest. We locked him into a sweetheart 18-yr lease: food, clothes and roof provided free-of-charge & taxi service included. He’s just sticking around for eighteen years, at which point, if we did our job right, he’ll move out for the most expensive years of his life, not call and then return 4-6 years later.

I love kids…

Anyways – I can’t use power tools if the baby sleeps. Baby sleeps all the time. Therefore…two small hand tool projects. Got to practice some skills. The child’s painting was bought at a auction of children’s art befitting my workplace. I built the frame.

i like your new adjustment to the noise ,
pretty soon though ,you will go to the shop toget away from the kid making more noise than you do !
i like the candle holder , but maybe some tin or brass plates at hobby lobby under the candles , just in case ?
and i like the tapered frame .
well done !

Very nicely done. And, don’t count on that 18 year lease, I think with inflation those leases are going about 22 years these days.

Congrats Dad,

Just remember patience is a virtue, and you were once their age. Nice projects

Congrats and Good Luck!
I like the candle holder idea! Simple and cool. I have a mantle, an old rough piece of Douglas Fir and my new jointer/planer—and that looks like a perfect project for them!

PS make some noise now and get the baby used to it. We did and both my kids could sleep in the shop now! They’ll sleep thru anything!
