I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Gracie Barra America and have decided to tinker around with some jewelry for them. So far I made a pendant and now a mens ring. This is the ring. I inlayed their symbol into the ring with veneer. I made the padauk veneer but had the maple veneer. The ring is sycamore. The finish is Lacquer. I had the honor of getting whupped up on by Carlos Gracie Jr. himself on Thursday. It was interesting.
You can see the size of the inlay if you compare it to my finger. It looks like it is big, and that there are some defects. But I had the camera on zoom and it accentuated the flaws. Looking at it on my finger with my naked eye does not show as many flaws. It isn’t perfect, but for as small as it is I did okay. I’ll get better I’m sure. I’m hoping to be able to sell these to other members, that is if Gracie Barra Inc. allows me to.
As Always I welcome constructive criticism, positive or negative.

Well that’s amazing to me. So small, yet so detailed. I bet you can’t see the imperfections, barely noticeable with the closeup shot.
Individual hand made custom rings, they should be so lucky.
Yoyos were made as weapons and canes are weapons too. Interesting….....
