I build them similar to a bandsaw box but I cut the inside out on the router table.

Rare earth magnets hold the lide down, almost to well…

woods
first box is hickory, purpleheart and cedar on the inlay
second box is alder with walnut

Really cool boxes. Yep, they sure look like bandsaw boxes. Great job. Read your profile. Wish I had access to scraps. You’re making good projects with them.

Cool! I can’t imagine making such small boxes with my 10 thumbs.

Great little boxes. Love the inlay. Love the Knots! they give the pieces that “one of a kind” look.

Great job.

Keep it up.

Love the boxes.

I was sitting here trying to figure out how they were done. Take a block of wood; cut both ends off (1/2”?); cut remaining block it in half lengthwise; hollow out bottom half and top half on router table; glue 1/16” pieces of contrasting wood to ends that were cut off; drill holes and insert pins for top “hinge”; glue box together; shape as desired. How close did I come?
