This is gorgeous, Mike. Every time I see projects like this I regret not having a lathe in my shop. Your piece of firewood “turned” out nicely. I really like the sapwood accents that you left in it. This gives the piece some nice contrast.

You turned that piece of junk into a peach.

Mike: You have walnut in your wood pile. What kind of woodworker are you.
Nice job on the scrap firewood.

Is any walnut actually junk? Nice use of so called junk. As you may have picked up, I’m rather partial to walnut. I’d like to see what you do with premium wood. Keep it up, BTKS

Now fellas before you go accusing me of walnut debachery, I did’nt say it was my firewood. My cousin called and said he cut down a walnut tree in September, knowing I liked to turn he asked if I wanted some, well to me that meant the whole tree. Of course he burns wood, and to him that meant a half dozen well chosen pieces. Well I got a good layer on the botton of my 3/4 ton Ram Charger but I’ll turn something for his wife to make things cool. Thanks for the complements, of course I’m no trifern, but hey, who is?

I don’t put debauchery past you, but that bowl is most definitely not walnut debauchery. Nice job!

when I first saw this bowl, I thought “I wonder if this is Mike’s”. Not sure why it has “your name written all over it” but it must!
I think it’s great and as said above – I think a set is in order!!

Mike: Great job with all your wood working projects. I enjoy reading you bio on being in the Army and being stationed in Germany. I also was in the Army and spent two tours in Germany, the 1st one was Swienfurt Germany 1979-1982 and Vilseck 1986-1989. I stayed in the Army for 22 years got out in 2000. I just started back wood working a year ago. I really love it. Well i hope you are felling beter and take care of your self.
