We worked with a designer on this project. The home owner wanted something a little nicer than a sheet rock mantel. After several revisions we came up with this design.

-- I cut it three times and its still to short?

Drew, this is a beautiful entertainment center/mantle combination. This certainly makes the fireplace the focal point of the room. This piece in conjunction with the flooring and the room divider only confirm my belief that you simply cannot add too much wood to a home. This is one gorgeous room.

By the way it is a shame you were not asked to put some crown in as well. That would have added a nice touch to the look of the room as well. But you did a nice job nonetheless.
