Made this for a friend as a favor. It holds a set of spurs (on bottom) and a stetson (on top). I used red and green stain, instead of painting it.

Sir, That is a GREAT looking Stetson rack! I spent four years with 1ID. Are you an O/C at NTC? We are headed there in October for a rotation.

Great work! Garryowen!

Thanks for the compliment. I recently made one for a guy in 11th ACR. I am an O/C at NTC. Which BN are you in. It will hopefully be cooled off a bit when you come out here. It is unbearable right now. Lots of heat casualties and we even had an overhydration the other day.

ArmyMrFixit: I was an O/C with the Timberwolves in Hohenfels for three years back from 2002-2005. I’m currently in 5-7 Cav (Garryowen!) with 3ID. We’ll be out there for 10-01 in FOB Denver…I’m the S3 so I’ll be running around all over the place!

My gunner from Germany was with 11th ACR a few years back and was KIA in Iraq. I know one of the MAJs there as well…Mike Kirkpatrick. Great guy and a super officer.

Have you ever done a project similiar to that 1st ID one with the Garryown Crest? You’d have 7th Cavalry guys beating down your door. I’m always looking for a better Stetson rack than what I have and the 1st ID one is phenominal!

That is great, sir. I will have to make a run out to Denver one day and meet you. I am a chaplain assistant. I cover down on the BN UMTs at the BSB and whichever unit goes to Seattle, usually a CAV unit.

Kirkpatrick sounds familiar, but I am not sure. Which team is he on?

I have only done 1ID and 11ACR. I was considering doing a 1st CAV one, but I dont know anyone directly that would want it. I havent thought of doing a Garryowen one, but that is not a bad idea. There is quite a bit more to that one than 1ID and 11ACR. It would take a little while to get that done.

I will try to post pictures of the 11ACR one soon. Have to find where I saved the pictures at.

That makes two of us! By the way, we will now be out at FOB Seattle for 10-01. Please look me up in the TOC…Warpaint 3. Thanks! Seventh First!
