My wife wanted a tall table to use these really nice bar stools with that we bought. I wanted to try building a trestle table. I found some old 5/4 sugar pine and had some leftover 6/4 and 4/4 walnut from other projects so I built this. I sort of have mixed feelings about it. I tried doing a sort of “breadboard” end but my walnut is narrow. I like the table but as more of a learning experience than anything. I finished it with oil and rounded the corners so it would have a little bit of a rustic look to match the #2 com sugar pine that I used for the top. If you look close in one of the pics you can see a bit of stick stain on the top. I left it there.

I like it ….the narrow breadboards add to the piece allowing the Pine to speak for itself. I enjoy using different species on my projects as well : ) Welcome to LJs !

I like the looks of the pine. What a great job.
