This is a maple sword with walnut handle and a cypress treasure chest for my grandson.

The lid is 10 pieces 12” long 1” wide by 3/4” thick. I beveled the edges at 5 degrees then laid them face up taped the joints together flipped them over and glued the joints then rolled the outer edges into a u shape and clamped them with a bungee cord. After then glue up dried I installed the end caps, then sanded the top to a nice smooth curve. The base is machined to match the finished top dimensions.

Sorry I am kinda still figuring this out, one of the pics kept loading sideways but I finally got it to load correctly. I will endeavor to take more and better pics of projects in the future.

Good stuff. Love some cypress and I’m lucky enough to have some milled old growth cypress passed down to me.

Heeeeeyyy more pickies .....yes!

Ok now the lid, the box itself looks like its designed to withstand some serious abuse, The curved lid is very well done, and I still cannot figure out how the sides fit to the curve?
