Thanks, this is one of those projects where I was really pleased with the milling and construction but, when it came to finishing it I feel that it didn’t quite meet my standards. I used Eastern Maple and even with a wood conditioner applied the stain blotched. My wife couldn’t tell and everyone else that looks at it doesn’t see it or at least is kind enough to not point it out. It literally made me sick when I watched it happen. Ugh….. oh well, live an learn.

Don’t point out, or talk about your mistakes. They are always exaggerated in the mind of the creator, usually by about a factor of about ten.
